Biography
Alyssa is a writer and contractor who loves partnering with brands to build better workplaces, helping internal communicators do their best work, and assisting organizations in improving their internal communications. She has spent her entire career, both unofficially (in an executive administrative and operational capacity) and officially (as a senior communications manager), supporting and eventually leading internal communications and change management efforts. Alyssa’s all about bringing psychology, empathy, and change management principles to internal communications strategies for a human-first approach.
Education
Alyssa earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice, both from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. During her dual program, she explored trauma psychology, court systems, and organized crime. One of her favorite electives was Gender and Communication (perhaps unsurprisingly). After college, Alyssa completed Prosci’s certification program to become a Prosci-Certified Change Practitioner. With a heart and desire to help others change the world, Alyssa uses her educational foundation in psychology, communications, and change management to craft stories and messages that resonate.
Experience:
Alyssa brings extensive experience in internal communication and employee experience, with a background supporting C-Suite executives across various organizations. She has planned company-wide events, developed internal communications strategies for small businesses, managed communications efforts during mergers and acquisitions (M&As) and CEO transitions, and more. In addition, Alyssa is an experienced content writer with bylines all over the interweb.
